Master Proclaim: import from PowerPoint

Logos makes sermon preparation frictionless with tools like the Sermon Starter and Clause Search. And building a presentation to support your sermon is just as easy. Right click on anything you find inside Logos to send it directly to Proclaim. With their powers combined, these tools eliminate any need for third-party note-making or presentation-building tools. But we know that many of you are comfortable building slides in PowerPoint, so we’ve made it easy to import individual slides or entire presentations from Microsoft’s presentation software. Here’s how to do it.

5 easy steps

  1.  Beginning in the “Add Item” menu, click the blue Import Powerpoint link at the bottom of the drop-down menu.
  2. Navigate to your .ppt or .pptx file, and double click on it.
  3. Choose to either convert to images (preferred) or transfer control to PowerPoint.
  4. Choose to either upload and sync or store the file locally.
  5. Click Add and you’re done!

Transferring control

When you choose “transfer control,” you’re opting to let PowerPoint take control of that portion of the presentation. While On Air, you may notice a slight hesitation on the first slide of that section while your computer reopens PowerPoint. To avoid this, start PowerPoint prior to the service and let it run in the background. Transferring control will preserve your PowerPoint animations and transitions, but it will use quite a bit more computing power. It may overwhelm some older presentation machines.
We recommend that you convert your PowerPoint slides to images, because at this time we are unable to sync PowerPoint presentations to the cloud. Converting your slides to images will allow them to sync across all of the computers in your presentation group like the rest of your content.
If PowerPoint remains a regular part of your workflow, importing your slides from PowerPoint is easy and seamless. Get Proclaim free and try it out for yourself. Visit ProclaimOnline.com/Download to get started today!

Born in WV, Ray escaped to North Carolina at a young age. He came to Logos after an 8 year stint at a faith-based nonprofit in New York. When he is not assembling sequences of words, he’s probably running, surfing or shooting skeet, but you should probably go look for him. He has a terrible sense of direction and is probably lost.
