Hi John. If you already have Logos 6, you don't need Logos Cloud. The biggest difference is that it’s a subscription, so you have the resources and the tools for as long as you subscribe. Does that help?

  2. William Borden says

This sounds good in principle, but I hope you aren’t heading in the direction of Microsoft Office 365, eventually replacing Logos 6 desktop and mobile app with a subscription service only available in the “cloud”. That would mean we could not access our resources, including notes, unless we are connected to the internet. There are still plenty of places where internet is not available, not free, or where one does not want to connect for security reasons.

  3. Tryon Lindabury says

This sounds exactly like Office 365. Charge high prices for Logos 6 packages so that we are all dragged into the subscription service. I am sure you will be offering tools not available with Logos 6. Get them in, get them hooked. Your Logos 6 will be out of date while subscriptions will have the latest and greatest.

Hi Tryon. You are right that for software companies the subscription model does allow us to release new tools sooner. Building new features takes a lot of time and money, but the big difference here is getting new features as soon as they’re finished versus getting all the new features at once. It’s also a difference of ownership—if you are using a subscription (like Netflix), the moment you cancel, you no longer have access to the subscription services. When you buy all of the movies (or books and Bible study tools), you own them.

I hope this helps clear things up.

I think that all of this is great stuff. But whats the use of spending thousands of dollars to purchase’s Logo’s to turn around found out if you want other feature’s you will have to buy them at more cost. I agree there are still many places around the world and even here at home that still don’t have internet, where its not available, or free. In a time where the Word of God is needed more than ever it should get easier to get not harder. I understand cost and profit, as well as vision and destiny, i would hate to see Logos end up like other service’s where the only way to have access is if you are paying a monthly fee. That would be a shame.

Hi Peter. We have a few customers with your name, and we will need your email to cancel your subscription. Could you please send a Facebook message to Logos Cloud with the email associated with your account, and tell them you wish to cancel?

  7. says

Hi Reginald. Logos Cloud is essentially a subscription to Logos 6. It gives you features as they are finished, similar to Logos Now (but Logos Now does not include a library. It’s like getting a sneak peak at Logos 7.

Updates to the existing software have always been free. Upgrades cost a lot of time and money to develop (think of the difference between Logos 5 and Logos 6).

Logos Now and Logos Cloud let you start using the new features earlier, but you do not own those new features (like you do when you upgrade your base package).

If you already have the library you want, you have a few options: you can wait until Logos 7 comes out to upgrade your base package, you can enjoy those new features as they are finished with Logos Now, or you can enjoy free updates to your Logos 6 library, which is already a powerful suite of Bible study tools.

I hope this helps clarify things a bit.
