John Bevere and Lisa are the founders of Messenger International, an organization established to help individuals, families, churches, and nations realize and experience the transforming power of God’s Word. A minister and best-selling author, John delivers messages of uncompromising truth with boldness and passion. In John’s latest book, Good or God, John invites readers to engage with God on a new level:

“These days the terms good and God seem synonymous. We believe what’s generally accepted as good must be in line with God’s will. Generosity, humility, justice―good. Selfishness, arrogance, cruelty―evil. The distinction seems pretty straightforward. But is that all there is to it? If good is so obvious, why does the Bible say that we need discernment to recognize it? Good or God? isn’t another self-help message. This book will do more than ask you to change your behavior. It will empower you to engage with God on a level that will change every aspect of your life.” —John Bevere

August 2–January 22, they’re on tour spreading this message across the country. Check out their tour stops today!

  2. Suda S. Rayel says

Logos is my primary friend and consultant in my ministry as a pastor. I use it a lot. I hope others can also buy the software.

  3. says

It's NOT always obvious to determine whether something is good or evil, or even to see the repercussions of some action… discernment is important in that regard

  4. says

Decrement is key because we are fallen men and women living out our existence in a fallen world. Sometimes it may be obvious to us where the difference between good and evil lies, but often it is a fuzzy or even totally obscured line, and in those time it is the discernment of the Holy Spirit that helps us to see.

  5. says

Logos is such a blessing for me. I'm a vocational pastor with a full time ministry as a law enforcement Sergeant in the Sheriff's Office and the pastor at our wonderful church, Brandon Christian Fellowship.

  6. says

Because on our own we are easily deceived by Satan the father of all lies and discernment from the Lord by way of His Word and/or the Holy Spirit is the only way humans can have wise discernment.

  7. ron says

Because on our own we are easily deceived by Satan the father of all lies and discernment from the Lord by way of His Word and/or the Holy Spirit is the only way humans can have wise discernment.

  8. Doug Hannon says

I have owned several Bible Study programs. Logos is by far the best software to dig into the Word of God.

  11. says

I was irked at the cost of the upgrade to Logos 6… but I have to say that the more I've used it, the more I've enjoyed it, and now I'm pretty thrilled I went ahead and upgraded!

  12. says

The main game-changer is the gospel of Jesus. Sinful people among sinful people, we need the purifying fire of God. Interesting that fire is a purifying metaphor and picture throughout the Bible and as a sign on Pentecost tongues of fire appeared. Jesus purifies so that discernment can come by the renewing of our minds in sanctification. Beautiful and awesome and lovely is our God of justice who poured out His wrath on Christ in His mercy.

  13. says

Because the sinful nature is that sinful. I can barely discern mySELF sometimes! Which is why I have such an appreciation for David's prayer: "Search me, O God, and know my heart! Try me and know my thoughts! And see if there is any grievous way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting!" (Ps. 139:23-24 ESV) Jesus is free to tell me whatever I need to hear about my heart, my value system, and the world around me.

  14. says

The difference between good and evil is only obvious to the conscience created in the image of God. So many parts of our minds and the world around us conspire to corrupt that image or obscure it. Looking through "a glass darkly," it's harder to discern good and evil clearly.

  15. Zam says

Tools are great! Such offers made many crazy! I am wondering whether a person from an underdeveloped country will hit this. The need in the underdeveloped countries specifically the local pastors is real as they do not have any resources to equip themselves. I wish this offer should rather change to donate freely to the poor pastors and preachers in these countries. I wish God will speak to generous people like you.

  16. says

The 5 books to be given away are all critical issues facing beleivers today. Im looking forward to reading them and strengthening my faith on each of these topics. As I continue in my studies I am not sure what or how I would or could without logos. Love it!

  17. Maggie Thomas says

We need to have discernment because we live in a fallen world and satan has blinded the unbelieving.Matthew 24:24 mentions that false prophets will come and show great signs and wonders, that if it were possible deceive the very elect.

  18. Jason says

Logos is the BOMB! Can’t imagine life without it. I spread the word about this software wherever I go. Keep it great people!

  19. Carlos mejia says

logos is the best sotfware to study the word of God and to teach the word to others in a blessing to have this sotfware

  20. Andy says

Because the image of God has been tainted within us, and we are unable to fully discern good from evil.

  21. says

Logos has revolutionized the way I study, prepare for sermons, papers, seminary work, research, pray, reflect. God has used it profoundly in my life. I would recommend it to all.

I wonder if these contests are for real because I always enter but never win a single thing! I guess we’ll see huh! I never win a single thing, well let the chips fall where they may!

I have Logos 7 but I cannot afford Logos 8. I have liver disease and my medical bills are high even with a deductible. I sold my car and now my wife and I are a 1 car family. I am waiting for a transplant but that is dependent on many factors. I know many people have personal crisis, but this is mine. Thanks for the consideration!

  24. Mary M. says

We need discernment to tell right from wrong because we do not always know all the facts. We may let our environment, circumstances, background, relationships, prejudices, upbringing, etc. influence our decisions instead of looking at decisions from a Bibical standpoint.

  25. Michael Vang says

Bonhoeffer has helped me understand that God is the only one who can operate in a paradigm of good whereas human beings operate in a confusing paradigm of good and evil. When Adam and Eve decided to become their own judges or ethicists through the serpent’s deception, Adam and Eve doomed mankind to operate within a paradigm made from the mixing of light and darkness.

  26. Matthew Tucker says

So thankful for Summit University providing Logos to me for early enrollment! Has been a big blessing in my life personally!

  27. Ken Harris says

We live in a time where we call good evil and evil good; however true goodness comes from God and spiritual discernment is key. The Good that comes from God is called divine truth and is not tainted by humanities version of truth because it comes from God and is flawless. We need to remain in close contact with God through an intimate personal relationship with him. which includes opening the resources in Logos and allowing God to speak to us through prayer, bible study and devotional time with the Lord of our Lives.

Discernment is necessary because God gives us freewill and the ability to choose to rely upon The Holy Spirit.
